Campground rules

  1. Speed limit is 5mph or under. Please stop at all stop signs 

  2. Check-in is at 3 p.m. Before noon is charged full day rate. Check out is at 3 p.m. 

  3. You must be 21 or older to rent a site. You must have a permanent residence. A valid drivers license or identification card is required per state law. We will ask to see this. 

  4. Occupancy of the campsite is restricted to two adults and any children under the age of 20. No minor child will be allowed to make use of a rented site when a adult is not present 

  5. Two tents or one trailer and one tent per site per family. If you have an outside refrigerator they must be locked and placed in the rear of the trailer or tent. 

  6. Payments are due on time each month according to the payment schedule. Any payment that is late will receive a $25.00 late fee that is added to your account balance. If payments are not in a timely manner your power will be turned off until the outstanding balance is paid. All seasonal sites must be paid in full by August 15th 

  7. Children must be supervised at all times while in the campground. No child under the age of 14 is allowed in the pool area without an adult over the age of 18. No minor is allowed to watch another child in the pool area or anywhere else in the campground. No rafts or boats are allowed in the pool. This is strictly enforced. 

  8. No swimming after dark at the pool or lake. 

  9. No one on the beach during quiet hours. 

  10. Only the site is rented to you. No spreading out into the woodland around the site is permitted for vehicles or tents or any other camping use. Permission must be obtained from the manager for any site alterations. Parking is restricted to rented site only. If your vehicle is parked on another site a daily rate of $25.00 will be added to your bill. 

  11. Campsite fees are due and in advance, subletting is not allowed. 

  12. No cutting through other sites. 

  13. Cutting down or injuring trees is strictly forbidden. 

  14. Anyone destroying any property or trespassing on posted property shall be responsible for damages and shall be evicted immediately. 

  15. No lines of any description shall be tied to any trees or bush. For drying bathing suits and towels please tie lines to awnings or tent poles. Lines must be taken down when not in use. 

  16. Visitors must register at the office, pay the fees and receive a car pass. The car pass must be placed in vehicle before visiting a site. Visitor fees are as follows. $5.00 per person per day and $15.00 per person per overnight stay.

  17. No fires are to be built anywhere except in the fire rings on site, no campfire should ever be left unattended at any time. Fire rings are available upon request. No burning full pallets. 

  18. No joyriding in the campground. All vehicles must be parked on your own site. 

  19. Excessive drinking, intoxication or foul language will not be permitted. The use of alcohol is not permitted under legal drinking age. Unsatisfactory behavior constitutes the cancellation of your camping contract without refund and the camper must leave the campground. 

  20. No firearms, fireworks or illegal items are to be brought into the campground. Unsatisfactory behavior constitutes the cancelation of your camping contract without refund and the camper must leave campground.

  21. All private boats, rubber boats, paddle boats canoes etc. are to be launched from the boat ramp. 

  22. Washing vehicles is strictly forbidden in the campground 

  23. Due to the exorbitant price of electricity, use of patio lights is not encouraged and is limited to one strand per comp site. We understand leaving one light on during the week. If we find unessential items left on we will pull your power cord and Hide-away-cove will not be responsible for loss of food. Please try and conserve energy. 

  24. Due to town ordinances Hide-Away-Cove management must approve all construction projects. Construction cannot begin until both parties sign a copy of this document, the office has a copies of the pictures and sketches that are acceptable. Any construction that begins without authorization will be stopped immediately and you will be asked to remove whatever has been erected. Repairs to additions are as follows. Any pre-existing additions that are enclosed will be allowed to remain as such and be repaired as such. The only exception to this will be roofs. Roofs containing asphalt products must be brought up to the new standards once they have to be replaced. Asphalt roofing will no longer be able to be applied even if it is preexisting. 

  25. Any porch of a camper door 3 feet from the ground is required by law to have a handrail. Any soft or rotted wood on porches or platforms is to be replaced immediately. 

  26. No hanging of swings on site. No pools higher than 12 inches are permitted by law. 

  27. When selling campers at Hide-Away-Cove, we require that both parties (both seller and buyer) must be present in the office together before any transaction can take place. Please make sure your CT Taxes are paid before selling your camper. The office will give the buyer the tax office information for them to call. This protects the seller and the buyer and of course Hide-Away- Cove Family Campground. 

  28. Any camper who abandons their property such as campers or vehicles and any other property for non-payment or was asked to removed such property out of the campground; the Hide-Away-Cove campground will sell or remove such items at the owner’s expense. 

  29. Proof of up to date vacations for each pet is required upon entering the campground. Children are not allowed to walk pets in the campground. Pets must be on a short leash at all times and or remain on a strong durable chain or rope that will not allow the pet to extend past the rented site in any direction. All pet droppings are the responsibility of the pet owner. Peta are not allowed in the swimming areas, rec halls playground, or restrooms. If any pet is creating a disturbance or being a nuisance the pet shall be immediately removed from the campground. Over and above these rules, the campground owner and management can deny any pet entrance into the campground. 

  30. Any camper who is planning on having a lot of visitors for cookouts, birthday parties etc. must receive approval from management prior to the date of the event. We ask all campers (seasonal and weekend campers) not to have a lot of visitors on holiday weekends due to the amount of people in the campground. We do this for the safety and comfort of all fellow campers. Over and above these rules. management can deny any visitor from entering the campground. 

  31. Each camper will securely wrap all garbage and trash in plastic bags and deposit them neatly in dumpsters provided. Each family is required to keep their area clean and tidy at all times. The goal is to keep our campground neat and clean. Management reserves the right to ask for the removal of any items deemed unsightly. IF management has to remove such items you as the camper will be charged a $50.00 clean-up fee. Please use recycle bins for cans and bottles. 

  32. No bicycles, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, skateboards, scooters, hover boards, or any other unregistered vehicles used in campground. 

Hide-Away-Cove Family campground is a privately owned and operated campground. We reserve the right to refuse served to anyone. We reserve the right to as any seasonal or guest to leave for any infraction of policy or any type of behavior deemed inappropriate or unsafe in order to ensure the well being of all campers at Hide-Away-Cove. Anyone asked to leave Hide-Away-Cove for any reason will be considered a trespasser and there by be subject to no refunds, arrests, and or prosecution. Please be aware that this agreement does not constitute a landlord-tenant agreement. 
Hide-Away-Cove is for Transient lodging only.
